Mint PDO Thread Lift

A PDO thread lift is a non-surgical, minimally invasive way to lift and tighten sagging skin on the face, neck and other areas of the body. This simple, in-office procedure has gained popularity in the Mid-west and has become known as the “lunchtime face lift". Due to the short procedure and little to no downtime, you can literally do it over your lunch break!

How does it work?

After a thorough examination and drawing of the vectors on your skin, local anesthetic is injected at the point(s) of insertion to make the procedure comfortable. Once numb, we use a sterile needle to make a pilot hole for our catheter to enter. Then, a blunt catheter is used to insert an absorbable thread under the skin. These threads have 360 helical barbs that lift and tighten the skin from underneath, while inducing collagen production. The procedure is about 15-20 minutes.

How long does a Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Pellet take to work?

Every patient and their hormone optimization journey are unique. Within 7-10 days after your pellet insertion, Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) begins to work. Once the pellets are inserted in the gluteal area, a consistent dose of Bio-Identical hormones enter the bloodstream.

Most patients report some symptom relief in as little as 2-4 weeks, but full optimization may take up to 6 months. Based on the results of your bloodwork, we will customize your particular hormone optimization that’s unique to you.

What test is required before the insertion?

In addition to health questionnaire, a comprehensive blood panel is required so we can check specific hormone levels along with other blood panels to verify that you are a good candidate and to set proper initial hormone levels. We draw your labs in office and results are expected within 24-48 hours. 

What happens during the in-office insertion?

During the in-office visit, patients are taken into the exam room where the insertion site is cleaned and numbed. The most common site of insertion is the upper buttock which we alternate left and right sides.

Once numb, a very small incision is made for the pellets to be inserted. After the pellets are placed, the insertion site is covered with a small bandage. The total procedure takes less than 15 minutes.

How often is pellet insertion necessary?

Each patient’s experience is unique. Most patients however will need to have pellets inserted 3-4 times per year to maintain proper hormone levels.

Can Naltrexone Weight Loss Pellets be inserted at the same appointment?

YES! We are able to insert both BHRT Pellets and Naltrexone pellets at the same appointment typically within the same insertion site.
